Today based in Paris, Lord Funk was a time the supplier and the salesman of records and official samples of the biggest producers electro and HipHop American and world – Fat Boy Slim, Kenny Dope, Warren G, DJ Spinna, The Beatnuts, DJ Muggs, Clark Kent, Towa Tei, DJ Vadim, Lord Finesse & BuckWild, Bob Sinclar, Pete Rock, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Q Tip, Eagon (Stones Throw), Quest Love, DJ Premier, Just Blaze, Pete Rock or Alchemist. All came to A1 Record Shop New York, the ancient fief of the Lord Funk (album photo: A1 Record Shop 1997/2001).
Helping years, he also carried the caps of DJ (New York, Shanghai,Tsibili, Lausanne, Bale, Paris, Miami, Helsinki ,Tunis) Show of Soul & Jazz radio program and Disco & Funk (The archipel du Funk on Transat Fm 1990/1993), producer of compilations of B-Sides Rare Groove and Rarities Funk,Orchestration Studio Advisor and Distributor of Desco Records (Sharon Jones and Dap Kings, Lee Fields, Neil Sugarman, 1995/1998), musical pillar of Kourtrajmé (2000/2006) Beatmaker for 113 ,Seth Gueko, Scred Connexion as “Squadra Azzura” or Founder of the Records store U.S.A Music ( Paris early 89/93).
The current event of our Lord turns around the sound Advertising / Tv / Soundtrack movies and musical Compo and is New Label “BOOGIE BUTT RECORDS” & some hot 7’inch With Real Fake Mc , Blowfly and Patctchwork and for this season some The Tropical Combo,Lord Funk,Le Gaucher De MonteCarlo A.k.a Les Papas Flingueurs.
Dj LC is engaged in the music ecosystem since mid 80’s, started his career as a radio show dj, programing soul & funk shows on French free radios like Radio 7 and Voltage FM. As a resident at flavored Parisian disco club like Whisky à Gogo, La Loco, Shirley’s, he lived and entertained some of the most iconic soul and funk parties during the mid 80’s and early 90’s.
At the same time, he started to work at some of the most renowned record shops of the black music scene in Paris, such as Sound Record, LTD and Urban Music between 1989 d 2005, becoming one of the best referent to a wide community of vinyl aficionados in Rap, RnB, Soul, Funk and Electro styles, developing a long lasting group of returning costumers eager to be offered his previous advices.
Isac Ace is a Portuguese music artist based in Lisbon, known for his open but sophisticated taste in music.
In February 2003, he began his journey as DJ Unite, becoming known as Isac Ace from 2012 onward. In 2008 Isac released his first EP, “Clean up the world”, named after Tyrone Ashley’s funk track, on Phonotactics. In 2013 his second EP “Party Together EP”, released on Adam and Liza, achieved air play success with a track featuring Da Chick.
In 2015 he produced part of Da Chick’s but album, released on Disco T.E.X.A.S., and performed with her on stage for her summer concert season.
Jeff Lennon, (half English, half French), started to be actively involved in arts, and especially into the Hip Hop culture, back in 1987 in Paris when he discovered the Zulu Nation Movement through the graffiti and street art, heavily inspired by artists like Mode2, Jon One, Jay, Bando, Seen, Phase II, Futura 2000, and many others who actually imported the movement in France around 1984.
Late 90’s, Jeff met Lord Funk at his Parisian record shop called USA Music, and start develop a long lasting friendship with one of the most incredible crate digger and samples dealer in the history. Jeff spent a lot of time discovering thousands of news gems, before Lord Funk moved to N.Y.C. in 1998 to manage Wagram sub-label Desco Record, as well as to run the iconic East Village A1 records shop. They never disconnected and every time they can, they meet in Paris to listen to their respective production and at last rare records discoveries.
